We know Swim Deep from their previous album “Where The Heaven Are We?” which came out in 2013, but now the band have changed from then, and now they’re on to something else. Their psychedelic single “To My Brother” is over loaded with bright, colourful and upbeat sounds, it’s beautifully written. The song feels like an escapism to 21st century ‘groovy’ land where everyone is happy and they mean it. The band declared a while back that they are not interested in singing about David Cameron or any politics at all, instead they want to lift people’s feelings by not involving things like politics.
Austin Williams revealed to the British music magazine NME the bands very big ambitions for their upcoming album. He told them, “We wanted to radicalise chart music.”
This first song that they have released from their album is an interesting one, it’s got some potential. Hopefully their new album is as colourful and if not then even more colourful.
