The legendary english singer and songwriter, Joe Cocker has left us yesterday at the age of 70 after a long battle with lung cancer. This is a very tragic thing to hear. He was a very unique artist, a highlight of the 60s and 70s with his beautiful blues vocals that were rich with soul. It’s going to be impossible filling in the blanks of this unique musician, because nobody can do what he did. His music filled us all with joy and emotion, his voice was able to move us with its richness, and for this we remember him.
The artist played in Woodstock ’69 and also at the Woodstock ’94 anniversary. His last album was in 2012, “Fire it Up”. In 2007 he was awarded an OBE by the Queen of England.
We will remember him as the wonderful artist that he was with the remarkable tunes that he has played over the years. Joe Cocker, you will be dearly missed.
